Hunua Falls is located in the western part of Hunua Ranges Regional Park in Auckland area. The spectacular 30-metre waterfall is part of the Wairoa River which carves through an ancient volcano as it winds its way north through the township of Clevedon, before meeting the Hauraki Gulf. The waterfall is extremely popular among the locals which makes it one of New Zealand Must See Waterfalls.
On 25th April 2014, NZGX hiking crew kick starts the journey from Central Auckland, driving about 50 minutes to reach the car park of Hunua Ranges car park.
From the car park, the waterfall is a short 5-10 minute walk on paved walkway.
